It’s understandable to want clear answers before choosing care for your baby. You may want to know what an assessment involves, who you’ll see and whether chiropractic care is appropriate.
Our team can explain the appointment process before you book. An assessment does not mean your baby will need treatment.
If your baby has feeding difficulties, persistent crying or other health concerns, speak to your GP, midwife or health visitor. Chiropractic care should not replace your baby’s routine healthcare or delay medical advice.
Our goal is not to “treat conditions” but to help your baby’s body function and move as well as possible.

Is chiropractic care suitable for every baby?
No. Suitability needs to be considered individually. Before any treatment is proposed, the chiropractor should explain the assessment findings, available options, potential risks and limitations. Some babies may need advice or assessment from another healthcare professional instead.
What age can a baby see a chiropractor?
Babies can be checked from just a few days old. Many parents choose to have their baby assessed in the early weeks.
What techniques are used on babies?
We use very light fingertip pressure and gentle techniques, nothing like what people often imagine with adult chiropractic care.
Can chiropractic help with colic, feeding difficulties or sleep problems?
There is not sufficient robust evidence to advertise chiropractic as an effective treatment for these concerns in babies. If you are worried about feeding, crying or sleep, speak to your GP, midwife or health visitor for appropriate advice.
Will my baby be comfortable during treatment?
Yes. Most babies are very relaxed during treatment and some even sleep through it.
Will my baby need a course of treatment?
An assessment does not automatically lead to treatment. Any recommendation should be explained individually, including its purpose, costs and when progress would be reviewed.
