Anxiety Disorders in War Veterans
LIFE Chiropractic offers FREE Chiropractic Care

The fact that anxiety disorders in War Veterans are common is well established. What is not so well known is that Chiropractic care is not just about bad necks and backs. It has a long track record of helping with physical, chemical and emotional stresses which can be the cause of many different functional issues.
In August 09 the shocking news broke that 8 UK servicemen were killed in combat in the Helmand province of Afghanistan in a single 24 hour period. In response chiropractic Doctor, Marie-Claude Lambert of LIFE Chiropractic announced the generous offer of FREE chiropractic care to all UK Iraq or Afghanistan Veterans serving or retired. "Chiropractic is not a cure or treatment for anxiety disorders in war veterans. I focus on restoring balance to the nerve system by removing "vertebral subluxations". In over a decade of experience, working with 10s of thousands of people including medical doctors, babies and children, nurses, solicitors and war veterans, correcting vertebral subluxations can have a profound effect in many areas of an individual's performance, health and function."

In Oct 2010 some of the practice members from Life Chiropractic were inspired to form the movement "Hands for Heroes - Free Chiropractic Care for War Veterans".Within 6 months over 90 chiropractic offices had signed up to make £2.5 Million worth of care available to serving and retired war veterans from Afghanistan and Iraq. The original chiropractic Developer and Visionary, a man named BJ Palmer, established the first chiropractic mental health sanatorium named "Clear View" in 1926. It grew to have a reputation for success with "mental" patients of 2 and 1/2 the success rate of mental hospitals based on the medical model of care. Regrettably this facility was shut down shortly after his death.
